Colour Create Challenge Week 13

This weeks Colour Create Challenge is orange, green and brown and preferably for a man. As it is hubbys birthday this week I thought this card could be for him, I usually struggle with cards for him and men in general. Inside the card it says "it's just a number" because he seems quite fed up with being nearly 44 so I keep telling him it doesn't mean anything it's just a number.

I used a digital download monkey from Dustin Pike, coloured in with promarkers, the leaf stamp was from the Stampman in Skipton but doesn't have a company name on it and I've had it for years. Bits of card and ribbon from stash. Lets hope he likes it!

Tutorial

Way, Hay, I'm normal, well in the crafting world anyway!

So here's what I did - put double sided tape on both sides of the bulldog clip, cut a strip of paper (I just used some tiny little scraps), inked the edges and decorated the fronts with left over bits of rub-ons or flowers then stuck the paper onto the clip. Then I tied ribbons onto the silver sticky up bit! I guess you could paint the black part of the clip first to match your paper or, I did see today in the newsagents, funky coloured bulldog clips in loads of different sizes, I did resist the temptation to buy them, so far anyway.

Have a good day everyone and thanks for the lovely comments.

Do I Need Help?

Do I Need Help?.....................

Okay, so Sunday was very wet, windy and cold here and I found myself with time of my hands and very sadly, thought it would be a good idea to make photograph holders out of bulldog clips. Is this normal?

Dare U 2 Digital Stamp Challenge

Dare U 2 Digital Stamp Challenge Number 3 - Pink and Green.

Well, I think the title says it all, so here it is.

I got involved with this challenge via my crafty mate Midnight Crafter, who is on the design team.

I have used Bazzill Card stock in pink and green, Smirk flowery paper (from the stuff I won!), the digital image is from Dustin Pike. I made the tiny little bows on the kite string, out of some odd bits of ribbon and some florists wire and cut a circle of card and used a heart stamp to make the pattern on the edge of the greeting. I really enjoyed doing this and love the colour combination.

My Craft Room

My Craft Room.

I'd completely forgotton that I haven't posted any pictures of my craft room yet, thanks Michelle for reminding me! So here goes. It is painted in 'friskey' green, James came over and painted it for me before we moved in. I brought my long piece of worksurface from the UK with me, and I'm so glad I did because I feel I can hammer and punch and make as much mess as I like without it damaging a nice desk. I also have a desk for my laptop, printer and robo cop and a couple of drawer units and cupboard and a book shelf. It's ace having all this space just for me. In Yorkshire I had to share the study with James, which worked fine but with him working from home now it would be awkward particularly as I talk to myself and have loud music on while I craft! Oh, mustn't forget I have my faithful little companion in Banjo. I never thought I would let the dog in the craft room but he is so good when he is in there. He likes to lie on top of a plastic box that I keep card blanks in, he is getting too big for it now but still manages to squeeze himself on there. The poor thing has had more than his fair share of embossing powder and glitter on his head but he doesn't seem to mind!

I have got a window looking out onto the back garden which is nothing more than a patch of dead grass at the moment but is a 'work in progress' and hopefully one day I will look out at lovely plants. My craft room is just off the family room/dining area/kitchen so it's ideally placed for me to keep an eye on what's going on while I play!

Colour Create Challenge Week 11

Colour Create Challenge Week 11.

This weeks brief was to use chocolate, cream and coffee colours with the optional extra of some distressing. I forgot about the distressing until I had finished this card and as I only managed to grab an hour to do this I thought it wouldn't matter. It has been difficult this week to find any time where I can craft uninterupted because the boys are still on Easter holiday.

I have used Bazzill Card Stock, some brown textured card from stash, the rubber stamp in from Whipper Snapper Designs(Dog, cat and mouse), coloured in with pro markers, Martha Stewart punch and ribbon from stash. Hopefully, next week I'll get a bit more time to try and create!

There are some things that I wouldn't have bought myself but I'm determined to give them ago and try something new. So, when I have actually made something I will post the results here. In the meantime you'll have to make do with a photo of me and said parcel, looking slightly deranged!!!!

Blog Candy Up For Grabs

The lovely Janet Clarke has blog candy up for grabs here

http://thisandthatwithclarkyj.blogspot.com/2009/04/as-promised-blog-candy-is-here.htm

Pop across and take a look at her site, there are some gorgeous, inspirational works of art on there and I'm so glad she set up the scrapbooking class in Skipton because it helped me so much with my scrapbooking and a fantastic added bonus was meeting lots of lovely new people all with the same interest - these people have become life long friends - no matter how far apart we live.

Colour Create Challenge Week 10

This is my first ever challenge and I must admit I struggled a bit. Finding anything duck egg was difficult until I stumbled upon some scraps of paper that I keep in a folder with the intention of using sometime. I knew there was a reason I don't throw anything away!

The background stamp is Stampendous Daisy, stamped in Versamark and coloured over with Cosmic Shimmer Powder (Dark Cherry). The flowers were punched out of a tiny scrap of Deja View paper, edges were inked in Distress Ink (weathered wood) and Rhinestones from Kaisercraft. Just a little bit of stitching along the bottom with thread from my stash.
